Description

The Focus RS MK3 takes the RS marque back to 4WD giving exceptional point to point drivability and performance. This is a very modern 4WD system with sophisticated torque vectoring and a true driver’s car sticking with manual shifting to ensure a directly engaging drive.

Sabre big power options for the RS MK3 platform are extensive. In 2020 we developed a modular external wastegate platform that allows turbo upgrades from the Garrett G-Series range. Starting at the 520 power level we can move accordingly with current power packages up to 750bhp. This is a very comprehensive upgrade option with full guidance on every aspect of the upgrade and what is required to achieve absolute performance. As with all upgrades our key target is to achieve maximum drivability in conjunction with headline figures.  Despite the big changes with turbos, camshafts, cylinder headwork etc, Sabre upgrades drive and perform with factory levels of comfort ensuring a turnkey experience under all conditions.

The Sabre G-Series platform includes the following turbos:

– G25-550
– G30-660
– G30-770
– G30-900
– G35-1050

Beyond the Garrett options, we also have specific tuning for the following turbos:

– Precision NX2
– EFR7163 (as used in the Mountune M520)
– Sabre EF7163 hybrid (up to 600bhp)

Of course there are other turbo options and we can accommodate tuning for many turbo configurations including special one off options.

**requires the Sabre BluTune. The earlier pre-facelift model does not currently support the bluetooth operations but does support Windows laptop programming.

Recommended Hardware
The Sabre Stage 3 requires typical bolt on upgrades as a starting platform. The key upgrade is the Sabre 500RSX turbo which is a direct fit to existing hardware. If you do not wish to build your engine (forged engine) then we can limit power to circa 440-460bhp on a good fuel.  For built engines we can expect to see 460-480bhp with standard cams with a HPFP upgrade. For power up to 500-520 we recommend Stage 3 cams + spring kit and/or water/meth injection.

Sabre ECU software upgrades have been developed under many conditions and cars. This process allows us to assess the tuning long term according to specification and variations, not just from a single vehicle.

Optimal performance and drivability will be achieved where typical hardware, conditions and fuel octane are used. Underlying and existing faults should be rectified before installing performance software. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions for more information.

    The 650 package is absolutely undeniably the best performance package i have driven on the Mk3 RS platform, it has the ability to nip into town or go for a B road blast or rip up miles of motorway playing with supercars (destroying supercars) economical, reliable, turnkey performance. best upgrade I’ve ever owned highly recommended

    After working with Leighton on my car for the last few years through various iterations I can confidently say I had hands down the best tuning available for the MK3 Focus RS. Still to this day my car is the quickest 60-130mph time on Dragy for the MK3 Focus RS 2 years after posting it and on an older, slower setup!

    Sabre is undoubtedly the best tuning option available for this platform (and many others!) if you want to take your car to the next level.

    The options offered are truly modular and cater for every power level desired, it’s easy to see why so many people switch to Sabre Tuning after trying many of the other options available on the market.

    The depth of knowledge of these ECUs is unparalleled, and having experienced the attempts of other tuning outfits to try and create a smooth driving, fast car with equivalent hardware – the Sabre tuned cars ALWAYS outperform the competition.

    Every byte of code has been developed from years of testing a wide variety of setups and I’ve been privileged enough to witness what was thought to be unachievable come to fruition on not only my car – but many others with similar setups. If you’re not Sabre tuned, trust me when I say you are leaving performance and driveability on the table!

    Features I have on a FACTORY ECU without an expensive Accessport:
    – Rolling launch (build boost while rolling and deliver instant torque for roll racing)
    – 4x independent switchable maps changeable at any time for differing power levels and conditions (rain, cold weather, WMI off etc)
    – 700bhp+ from a 2.3L RS engine that’s still able to give in the lower RPMs, no waiting around all day for turbo spool!
    – Integration of port injection system
    – Integration of WMI system
    – Integration of 4 bar (absolute) MAP and TIP sensors to maintain boost levels of up to 2.6BAR (3.6BAR absolute) safely!
    – Anti-theft mode for peace of mind

    No need for an expensive Accessport when you can just turn the key and go, what more could you want!
