The Focus ST MK3 introduces the new Ford Ecoboost platform in 2012 and what a departure it is from the previous 2.5 engine. One less cylinder and less displacement, but more power and torque due to the new high compression GDI engine which is coupled to a very tight and refined chassis. It is an exceptional engine in concept and accordingly features a new and very complex Bosch/Ford ECU architecture. This has become the mainstay for of all Ecoboost Ford ECUs up to present day albeit with significant revisions to suit.
The Sabre Stage 1 is crafted to ensure full control of the small factory turbo with a very refined and powerful delivery. This is especially important at lower engine thresholds where inherent boost spiking is apparent on tuned cars. The end result fully optimises performance up to 285bhp & 340lbs/ft in conjunction with enhanced control and safety.
